Yuzu is a fruit commonly referred to as the Japanese grapefruit, only much more tart in flavor.
Due to its strong acidity, it is rarely consumed as a fruit but can be found as an ingredient in seasonings sauces, sweets, teas, and liquors. Yuzu is a good source of vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that helps build immunity, fight free radicals and ward off aging.
In Japan, the whole yuzu fruit is a popular home remedy in baths to fight colds and soften skin. It's difficult to find fresh yuzu in the United States, but you can purchase yuzu in various forms including bottle juice or in a dry powdered and paste form.
