Description
Carageenan is polysaccharide, or long chain of carbohydrates, derived from edible red seaweed. It is often used as a thickener and emulsifier in various milk products such as ice-cream and almond milk
Research has shown that carageenan has no nutritional value and cannot be digested by the body. It also indicates that carageenan can be disruptive to the digestive system, causing a reaction similar to that of Salmonella exposure. This leads to excessive inflammation that increases your risk of gastrointestinal cancer.
