Hydrogenation

library / Hydrogenation

Hydrogenation is a chemical process that adds hydrogens to monounsaturated or polyunsaturated fats. Hydrogenation makes the structure of the fat more rigid - and shelf stable - at room temperature.

Meal Genius strictly opposes hydrogenated, or trans fats. Read labels and always avoid anything containing hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils.
