Preheat oven to 450 F. Place salmon skin side down on a baking sheet.
Drizzle with a little oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Transfer to oven and bake until cooked through, about 12-15 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a food processor or Magic Bullet, combine basil, walnuts, garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil. Blend until creamy.
Add the artichokes and pulse to desired consistency.
Transfer cooked fish to platter or serving dishes.
Top each piece of fish with 2 tablespoons pesto.
